Assignment #1: Zentangle and reflection Upload your Zentangle (both sides) upload to your assignment and reflection page. Put a text box next to your Zentangle and discuss this activity and what value you gained from it. Include in your discussion the elements of art that were used and what principles of design are evident. Week 2
Assignment #5 Elements of art (Jan. 27) The elements of art are: line, shape, form, color, value, texture, and space. Write a poem, rap, or a silly sentence that will help you remember the elements of art. You may work alone, or in pairs, or in small groups of three. Be prepared to present to the class on Thursday. Type your writing in the assignment section of your website (list members in your group.) Advanced student assignment #1: see Advanced Student Assignment page for details Assignment # 6 Drawing exercise: Upside Down Drawing (Jan. 28) In Sketchbook Make sure that your website has everything uploaded and reflection questions answered for the Zentangle. Remember - no last names, no contact info,, and no photos of Epiphany students or staff. Website should be up to date and ready for me to view by the end of the school day on Friday. Assignment # 7 Drawing exercise: Pinecone hatching and cross hatching drawing (Jan. 29) upload to to website To show shading, use hatching and cross hatching, draw your pine cone. Bring in photos or items to use as reference for your work. Project #1 Relief Printing: Japanese Gyotaku When completed: upload to the website |

WEEK 3 Project 1 (Tuesday, February 2) Give back grade sheets on website building, discuss. Prisma color pencils, regular color pencils, and watercolor pencils Using colored pencils or watercolor pencils, modifiy the Gyotaku relief print by adding color and details. Project 2 (Wednesday, February 3) Give back grade sheets on students that made corrections to their website. art 1: demo on drawing (add stippling) art 1 and 2: choose topic to draw, draw thumbnails, pick out photo, begin drawing art 3: work on proposal for indiv project - due Friday Projects 1 &2 (Thursday & Friday, February 4 & 5) Video on wet mount technique of mounting watercolor rotate through centers work on graphite pencil drawings Friday - proposals due for advanced student's individual project All website corrections are due - after today they will be considered late. |
